Peer Support
Peer Support is the opportunity to grow through collaborating with other individuals. This action gives everyone the opportunity to share answers as well as experiences with one another. It is with this action of sharing that we are able to come together in the common goal of system and environmental change for the disability community.
Support Group beginning September 2008
'Common Thread’ is a structured support group that aims to address the common issues faced by all people with disabilities. Whether your disability occurred through chronic illness, congenital or an acquired condition, we welcome you! In addition to this, partners and caregivers will also be given the same opportunity to experience their own unique supportive environment on a separate day.
Common Thread’s mission is to provide ongoing mutual support, feedback, and exposure to a variety of topics that will help facilitate emotional growth, adjustment, and empowerment for both groups.
Common Thread for People with Disabilities meets the second Wednesday of each month from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Common Thread for Caregivers meets the fourth Wednesday of each month from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
